Effective business communication
Improve your ability to communicate effectively at work. Topics include reports, presentations, appropriate language and spelling.

Effective Committees
A five week course that will address the specific needs of committees and key points that will assist to clarify and maintain effective communication. Some of the topics that will be covered are: roles of committee members, agendas and minutes, report writing, legalities, decision making and discussion, purpose and types of meetings.

Business Admin NVQ
This qualification is for individuals whose role involves carrying out a broad range of administrative activities. For example: managing customer relations, managing diary systems, organising business travel and accommodation, organising and supporting meetings, using various software, preparing text from a variety of sources. This qualification is very flexible in its structure enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.

Introduction to British Sign language
Have you ever thought of learning British Sign Language but wondered if it was the language for you? This 6 week introductory course is ideal for those who would like to try out BSL. It will give a friendly introduction to the language, and no prior knowledge is necessary. It is also useful for anyone who would simply like to learn some basic survival signs. By the end of the course, you will be able to improve your communication skills with Deaf people on a range of topics that involve simple, everyday language.

Introduction to Personal Safety
Think personal, think safety, think you. We are offering 4 awareness raising sessions:
Personal Safety at Work – Learn about how to reduce the risks of becoming a victim of violence and aggression in the workplace and how to maintain a safer working environment.
Lone Working - This session will help you identify risks relating to personal safety when lone working and strategies for tracing lone workers and working alone.
Living Safely – It is all about planning ahead, thinking about the possible risks and taking realistic and practical steps to avoid them if possible.
Growing up Safely – It is never too early to learn about Personal Safety! Some practical tips for adults to share with their growing families. No amount of precautions will make us completely safe but we can learn how to avoid the dangers and react quickly when we are at risk.

CIEH Level 2 - Food Safety in Catering
The CIEH course is one of the most widely recognized forms of training in Food Safety and is recommended for all those that handle food. Upon successful completion of the course, student’s certificates are valid for three years.

Safe, Healthy Cooking
An introduction to food safety and basic kitchen management, practical catering skills, nutrition and menu planning. Gain a CIEH Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and a Certificate in Food Management and Healthy Living.
This course would be useful to those employed or volunteering within the catering sector or those who work with food in any other capacity.
