Local Citizenship


PCDT is one of the partners that support’s the Take Part Pathfinder Programme.  It is led by Cornwall Voluntary Sector Forum and the other partners include Age Concern, Cornwall Rural Community Council, Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, East Cornwall CVS and Volunteer Cornwall.

The aims of the Take Part Programme are:

  • To build the skills and confidence of local people so that they can pursue civic activism, community leadership and lay governance roles
  • To support people and organisations in developing an understanding of barriers to participation, and how to overcome those barriers
  • To raise awareness of routes into lay governance roles, especially those involving LSP partners, and to support people in their progression through those routes.

  • How to raise and issue at Parliament
  • Town and Parish Councillor Training
